Untitled (October 4, 1916)
A whole life of successes and failures that only I know:
Beset by fathomless grief and sorrow, there is no end.
The west wind intentionally blows on my thin hair;
The North Star happens to fall on my long brows.
Inside the chamber a virtuous man takes poison and dies;
Outside the gate a wicked child chases his foe and starves.
Who said the tranquil cloister in autumn is desolate?
I busily watch the yellow leaves fall from their branches.
